For the average player, baccarat offers the best odds in the house, giving the house barely a 1% edge. With the winning strategies presented in this book, you can take advantage of this by using Kaysers remarkably clever betting systems to walk away with the casinos money. Seventeen informative and power-packed chapters show beginning and experienced players everything they need to know about the game of baccarat, from the rules of the games, casino etiquette, and the history of baccarat, to basic plays, winning strategies, and advanced techniques. 256 pages

Review:
This book offers an in-depth discussion of intelligently betting the player/banker hands of baccarat -- based on the odds over the course of an entire shoe. Mr. Kaysar's system offers the player no magical system to guaranteed riches. In fact the author is honest about his system and the expected win ratio playing the basic strategy, according to the author is: 55% of half of shoes played the bettor will win, lose of 40% of shoes and tie the remaining 5% (pg.70). Again, I am pleased with the authors honesty, which so many others lack when jacking up the win ratios for their "systems." The author plainly states, "If there were some magical 'system' to winning at baccarat...no one in his right mind would write a book and tell you about it. He'd just keep it to himself and get rich." (pg.207) What is offered in this book, in my opinion, is a sound and reasonable strategy to winning hands at baccarat. It is a simple system, but not simplistic, and may require a bit of mental effort, at least at first, when applying his strategies.

The reason why it is lacking five stars is two-fold: first, a more in-depth discussion of money management and betting procedures would have been welcome. Secondly, since the author is a mathematician (and I was happy to see his work peer reviewed), some of his concepts could be more fully explained in a simpler fashion for laymen such as myself -- especially when he begins to discuss "standard deviations" and so forth.

I would heartily recommend this book for anyone looking to add to his gambling book collection on baccarat. I would go so far as to say it is required reading on the subject if you have more than a passing interest in winning at the baccarat table, even if you disagree with his method.
